Course Description

This course is designed to nurture an appreciation for literature, including short stories, poetry, and drama, along with developing academic writing skills. According to the OCC English Department Syllabus: "This course teaches students to comprehend and respond to literature in their own writing. Skills, such as analytic and critical reading and writing, summarizing, and paraphrasing, are developed through the study of literature. Research techniques and forms are also taught. Prerequisite: English 103. 3 credit hours.”
